Noon on the Yellow Path

I set down the pack on my back. Yellow needle leaves glint in the sun, and the silver grass on the ridge bends once in the wind.

Late Frost

Seeing the silver grass on the ridge bend in the wind, I'm reminded of a path I walked for a long time and then stopped. The backpack left there looked so quiet.

Alight

A water bottle left in the grass by the road was holding old sunlight.

Ebb

The ginkgo leaves on a late autumn walk covered the path entirely in yellow, so lovely that walking on them felt almost a shame.

Shimmer

Sitting on a path covered with fallen leaves, I was retying my shoelaces when the wind brushed past my side. I could see it swaying the silver grass beyond the ridge.
