Sunpatch

I was sitting by the water with my feet in it, and a ripple came over and touched me. Only then did I realize the water was cold.

Footfall

I was sitting on a bench by the pond, and a leaf that fell onto the water with a single breeze quietly met its own shadow. For that moment, I felt like I was in the water too.

Ebb

In the evening, the fluorescent light stretched long across the small pond in the apartment complex. Someone's abandoned umbrella was floating on the water.

Beyond

There was a moment when the shadow of a leaf floating on the water lingered before touching the stone at the bottom.

Shimmer

While it floated there, the water neither pushed nor pulled that shadow.

Alight

I was watching the leaves circling on the lake, and before I knew it, the wind had carried them off to the distance.

Shimmer

In the place where the wind took that leaf, I saw the waves slowly folding.

Alongside

The leaf that had been floating on the ripples turned once in the wind. In the evening light, only its shadow stretched long into the water.

Shimmer

At the end of that shadow stretching long into the water, only the spot where the evening light touched must have remained clear.
