Shimmer

Following the sound of wild geese, I look up to see the sky trembling in the paddy water.

Alight

Seeing the sky swaying in the tears, I suddenly lifted my head too. But there was nothing above.

Footfall

Waiting for a leaf to fall on my shoulder, I find myself looking twice at where the wind has passed. Turning my head, someone on the bench over there is looking at the same sky.

Alight

A single fallen leaf brushed past my shoulder, so I looked up at the sky over the bench a little longer.

Ridgeline

Sitting on the bench under the ginkgo tree, I looked up and saw the sky split blue through the leaves. A line of wild geese passed through the gap.

Breeze

A sparrow that settled on the windowsill this morning preened its feathers with its beak, then flew away. In its place, a single yellow ginkgo leaf remained.
