Alongside

Just before touching the surface, the leaf trembles once and chooses its direction. I too stopped in my tracks at that moment.

Late Frost

When the river is calm, you can't even see the leaves drifting by. Only the ripples in the evening light lingered for a while before passing.

Alight

As I passed under the ginkgo tree, I saw a leaf fallen in the wind overlapping my shadow. I stepped aside just a little.

Footfall

A leaf dried by the autumn sun was caught in a crack in the sidewalk. Every time the wind blew, it lingered in the same spot. I watched its movement for a while, then moved on.

Ridgeline
