Under a Heavy Sky

Through the bus window on the way to work, familiar scenery slides past. Things that were sharp until yesterday look a little blurred today. A short exchange with someone has stayed with me, and this is a morning for weighing those words again. Maybe our skies were simply different. I walk carrying this heavy light, while the other person may be breathing lighter air. Even as I think that, I come to accept that each of us has our own road to walk. Today I quietly hold that feeling and keep it.

Each time the bus stopped, the view outside changed a little. Some days the same road looks that different.
