Creases

You spread the quilt and folded its corner. I curl up right in the middle of it, so the place you touched creases again under my weight.

The clothes folded neatly at the foot of the bed still hold the warmth of the day. The fan running by the window lifted the empty quilt slightly and let it go, and at that breeze I turned my head without meaning to.

While I turned away from folding the sorted laundry, the cat had settled on top of it, licking a paw. A loose thread from the clothes I'd hung out clung to its fur and moved along with it.
