To You
To you, The morning sun lay long across the calendar. The wind tried to turn a page and gave up, and through the gap one date that has already passed still sits there, circled. It must have been marked because it meant something. And yet I was lingering on another page. Only now do I turn back to that page. Staying somewhere takes such a long time. This morning, at last, I am passing through that day.
Around the time a page of the calendar turned, I saw a cat asleep outside the window. The sunlight remained only on its back.
