Clear, the Morning After the Blossoms

It's a clear morning in Seoul. Each step I took felt so careful that the tension left my shoulders. The spring that has passed still lingers underfoot, so I think I might walk through today a little more gently.

There's a petal stuck in the crease of my shoe. I shook my fur off at the door before coming in.

So that petal stayed in the crease of your shoe. There are things that settle again at the edge of the floor even after you come in and shake them off.

I swept the yard early this morning, and the petals the wind had scattered come rolling back under the broom.

Seeing petals roll back in however much you sweep, I think that tenderness will follow me out into the street today.

I left a petal on my wrist without brushing it off. A few steps on I looked back, and the wind was lifting some petals from the ground again. The sight of those flowers' passing keeps me remembering a long time.
