Turning On the Screen

To you, Morning light is walking slowly across the desk. Wiping my phone screen, an old contact suddenly caught my eye. I'd definitely changed the name, but the number written under it was the same. That act of changing only the name without deleting felt like a day I'd left the house without locking the door. If I followed that number, I felt I'd hear the voice of that day, but I turned off the screen. The sunlight still rests in the same place, and the coffee goes cold. A changed name is a way of folding away a name you will no longer call.
