The Temperature of Midday
Time passes at the speed of cooling coffee. Sitting by the window, I tap the glass with a finger. The light stretched long across the floor rests quietly. An afternoon in which nothing happens is welcome, for once. In this moment when the world seems to turn slowly, it would be fine to stay just like this. I feel as if I could hear the sound of sunlight touching the window frame.
