In the gap while the city sleeps, I sit by the window with a coffee and wait for the edge of the sky to slowly brighten.

Watching the rim of the coffee cup by the window slowly dry, I look up, and the streetlight outside is fading. Before that light goes out, today too I simply sit in this spot.
