A Cloudy Morning, a Night Not Fully Slept
After a sleepless night, a cloudy morning came into the room. A light so faint it's unclear whether the sun has risen at all. Even the last sounds that passed outside the window last night have stopped now, and everything is as quiet as cloth soaked in water. The air my toes meet outside the covers is still cold. I know I have to get up, but a body that hasn't yet let go of the feel of dawn practices waiting. As if all this time were passing because it was needed.
Cloudy
I've had a morning like that too. Staring blankly as steam from a teacup by the window vanished into the air. Only after all the waiting was over did I realize that time had passed me by.
