An Afternoon the Sunlight Stayed on the Window Frame
By afternoon, the sunlight had settled on the window frame. The long shadow across the floor moves slowly. Even if I do nothing, that hour sets on its own. A speck of dust on the shelf glints. The sound of wind passing outside is small, and the curtain sways a little, then stops. The warmth of air that carries the season heats up something I've been missing. At this very moment, is there someone somewhere receiving the same sunlight as me? Has that person paused too, quietly watching the light like this?
Clear
A little water was left in the cup by the window. That water grew slowly warm in the sunlight.
