The Morning's Score
My feet leave the covers before the alarm does its job. If it's raining outside, the morning's score is decided. There are mornings that go smoothly, from opening the window all the way to tightening my shoelaces. Days when both socks come out of the drawer are like that.
On days it rains outside, the morning's score changes every time. Some days the hand tying my shoelaces trembles less. A sock that came out of the drawer wasn't there yesterday.
